The XIV Moscow International Festival of Arts “Traditions and Modernity”, which will take place from May 29 to June 4, 2025, places an important emphasis on attracting artists from the United States and Europe. This step was part of a cultural diplomacy strategy aimed at strengthening the dialog between Russia and the West through art.
As A.S. Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted, “art is a universal language that can overcome political barriers and build bridges of mutual understanding. We see the Traditions and Modernity Festival as an important tool for the development of international cultural cooperation”.
The festival, which has been bringing together artists from more than 60 countries for more than 15 years, this year will be a platform for the active participation of Western masters. The organizers emphasize that this is not only an opportunity for artists to present their works at prestigious venues in Moscow – the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall, Gostiny Dvor and ART-SPACE at 9 Tverskaya Street – but also a chance to become part of a global cultural dialogue.
“We are open for cooperation and want to show that Russia remains a space for free creativity and cultural exchange,” said E.G. Torubarova, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The festival participants will be able not only to demonstrate their works, but also to establish professional contacts, exchange experience with colleagues from different countries and find new opportunities to promote their art. The best works will be recognized with the international award “VERA”, and the creativity of the participants will receive coverage in more than 60 mass media.
Applications for participation are accepted until May 15, 2025 through the official festival website or by email. The organizers call on artists from the United States and Europe to actively participate in the process: “This is not just a festival, it is an opportunity to become part of a large cultural movement that unites tradition and modernity, East and West,” the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of this unique event, which will be an important step in strengthening international cultural ties!
